Pet sitting is essentially when you hire me to come into your home to look after your pets for you while you’re away – no matter what they are* or how many you have.

I will come to your home to serve as a companion, walk and feed your pet for an all-around welfare check. I will stay in your house overnight to care for your animals and make sure they sleep safely.

As a nomadic person, it is important for you to understand that I perform my usual daily tasks alongside pet-sitting, such as going out to eat, exercising, shopping or small walks/trips, so I am unable to offer 24/7 companionship to your pet.

While I do take breaks – the rest of the time I am at your home, with your pet, and their schedule of care will always be my priority and I will place my tasks/activities around their care.

I can look after a variety of pets with a few exceptions*, and prices can vary depending on how many pets you have.

Location fees

Being a nomadic person allows me the flexibility of travelling to look after pets. Some people live in remote locations or in small cities where they cannot find such service, there is where I can be of most help.

With many low-cost ticket fares these days it makes it easier for me to reach my clients. Nevertheless, depending on your location, an additional cost for travel cost might be added. If your country is on my list of countries to visit I might be able to provide a further discount. Please, note that your place must have a reliable Wi-Fi connection, I am unable to support clients in locations with no Internet available.

Which countries can I go to?

I can go anywhere really, as long as it is cost-effective for me. We can talk during our first consultation to see if we can close a good price for both of us.

Is House Sitting included in the price?

No. If you wish to have the services included in the House Sitting Pack, please, get in touch. For clients that hire both services, I will do a discounted rate.

Is Reiki included in your pack?

No. My Animal Reiki sessions are at an extra cost. Please, read the Reiki for Animals section for prices.

Where am I based?

I am based in the UK, so if you are here it is possible that it is easier for you to book my services.

Can I cancel if I changed my plans?

I can look after your house for many different purposes, please see below just a few possibilities.

Basic tasks included in the pack:

1. Keep your home neat and tidy as you left it.

2. Pick up the post/‘waiting in’ service for deliveries.

3. Water your house plants (full gardening is not included in the basic services).

4. Enhance your home security by being there – so that your house never looks as though you’re away.

5. Set alarms and ensure all your normal security procedures are followed to the letter.

6. Handle household emergencies such as a burst pipe / broken window / fallen tree – quickly, calmly and professionally.

7. Escort tradesmen around your property (with your prior approval) allowing them to provide quotations for you.

8. Solely staying at your home to mark a presence while you are absent with no other tasks to be carried out (the lower rate applies for this service).

Additional services available:

1. 24-hour presence – If you require this service conditions must be agreed upon in advance.

2. Gardening & mowing.

3. Fruit picking & preserving/freezing.

4. Day-to-day cleaning – please note I won’t perform deep cleaning, check Terms & Conditions for details.

5. Answering calls/taking messages/contacting you if required.

6. Try to keep access clear in snow.

7. Stay in during maintenance/painting work.

8. If your insurers require a custodian/guardian.

Reiki is Japanese for 'universal life force energy', the word can be split into 2 parts - 'Rei' meaning universal and 'Ki' meaning energy. Whilst Reiki is thought to have its roots in ancient Buddhism it is not a religion, but a healing system.

Reiki is suitable for many animals - from farm animals to domestic pets. So including horses, dogs and cats plus many others. It is a non-invasive ancient healing technique.

Reiki works through an energy transference technique - the Reiki practitioner places their hands in a series of positions on the animal and the energy passes through the practitioner onto the animal.

Due to animals’ sensitivity to the Reiki energy, the session will often begin with the practitioner nearby, to enable the animal to decide how much Reiki they want. If the animal prefers not to be touched throughout the Reiki session, it can still benefit from the Reiki healing. In fact, animals often respond quicker to Reiki than humans. Reiki is also excellent for anxiety and stress and can support your pet's general well-being.

If your beloved pet has any issues that you would like to treat, I am able to perform Reiki sessions while I am pet-sitting your buddy.

Important! Reiki sessions are not a replacement for medical veterinary care.

REIKI SESSIONS RATE

£25 per session, per pet

£35 pounds per session if you have 2 pets (both pets will receive Reiki)

I offer discounted prices if you wish to purchase more than 5 sessions or have more than 2 pets.

Which animals can you provide with a Reiki session?

Any pet you have. Reiki is a universal life force energy and can be applied to all beings including plants.

Can I ask you to focus on one particular issue my pet has?

As a universal life force energy, Reiki will go to where the pet needs the most and it is not controlled by me, I only act as a conduit, nevertheless, I can place my intention in the area where the pet might be having issues and need the most help.

Can I use the Reiki session to heal my pet instead of calling the vet or using medication?

No. Reiki must not replace medical care and you must consult your veterinarian for advice. Reiki can be seen as a complementary therapy to the pet ailment.

1. Bookings

i. To secure a booking, a 50% deposit is required. The other 50% is required to be paid on the first day I arrive at your residence.

ii. I only accept payments via bank transfer.

iii. Payments on your arrival back from holiday are not accepted.

iv. The fees are represented in pounds and the respective value in your country’s currency will be informed after conversion.

2. Cancellations

If the booking is cancelled, the following fees apply:

i. Cancellations 30 days or less prior to the first day of the booking incur 50% of the complete fee charge (minus any travel expenses) if I am local to you.

ii. Cancellations 30 days or less prior to the first day of the booking incur 50% of the complete fee charge + 100% of the value of my ticket train/flight if I am not local to you.

iii. Cancellations seven days or less prior to the first day of the booking incurs 100% of the complete fee charge plus 100% of travel expenses if tickets have been bought.

iv. If the cancellation occurs from my side, due to sickness or any other reason, I will refund the full amount paid from your security deposit.

3. Rates

Live-in rates are charged per day, not per night.

a) Early arrivals (in case you arrive from your holiday earlier than expected):

i. In case of early arrival, I am able to leave early and give a discount of 50% on the daily rate of the unused days, which will be refunded to you. This condition only applies if I am local to you.

v. In case of early arrival, where I am not local to your location, no discount will be given and the full fee for the unused days will be kept.

vi. In case of early arrival, the client agrees to still provide me with accommodation where I am unable to change my train/flight ticket and/or where I am unable to find affordable accommodation in the surroundings.

b) Late arrivals (in case you need to extend your holiday)

If I am not booked for any pet-sitting job right after your booked days, I am able to extend my stay in case you have delays on your flight or wish to extend your holiday.

Late arrivals conditions:

i. In case of later arrival, I will charge the standard daily fee per extra day + a one-off late fee of £50.

ii. I charge 100% of the value of a new return train/flight ticket, or any alteration fees as my ticket will need to be cancelled or altered.

iii. Extra days will only be confirmed upon payment of the extra day rates + ticket alterations price.

iv. I am unable to confirm extra days if payment is not made and I will leave on the previously agreed day if that is the case. Payments on arrival are not accepted.

c) Festive dates

i. Fees are charged at a double rate for Easter Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and New Year’s day.

ii. Fees are charged at 50% extra for all other Bank Holidays.

4. House conditions

To be able to look after your pet at your home some conditions apply. If your house fits within any of the conditions indicated below, I will be unable to accept your booking.

I do not:

i. I do not pet-sit at houses where you are not the main owner or tenant highlighted in your house contract or agreement. I reserve the right to verify if contracts are legit prior to accepting your booking.

ii. I do not pet-sit at houses which are not considered habitable and do not have proper sanitary conditions.

iii. I do not pet-sit at houses which do not have a basic level of cleanliness. The house must be delivered clean upon my arrival. I do not perform cleaning work except for cleaning tasks related to your pet's hygiene. I will always clean up after myself.

iv. I do not pet-sit at houses that are in locations/countries that are currently known to be under conflicts or wars.

v. I do not pet-sit at houses that are in locations/countries that are currently known to not protect women's rights.

vi. I do not pet-sit at houses that are in locations/countries that are in areas of strict access, unaccessible by normal transportation methods or that taxi services would not reach.

vii. I do not pet-sit at houses that are in very remote areas where I cannot access food or help.

viii. I do not pet-sit at houses that are in very remote areas without neighbours in the surroundings.

ix. I do not pet-sit at houses that are in locations where mobile phone reception is limited or unavailable and that do not have a reliable Wi-Fi connection.

5. Animals condition
   

To be able to look after your pets some conditions apply. If your pet does meet the conditions indicated below, I will be unable to accept your booking.

I do not:

i. I do not look after animals considered wild or exotic animals with exception of a few. If you have a wild or exotic pet get in touch to know if I can support you.

ii. If I can support you in looking after an exotic pet you must make sure you have available the proper licences to have a such pet. I reserve the right to verify if licenses are legit prior to accepting your booking.

iii. I do not look after pets that are extremely ill, require intensive medical care or are terminally ill.

iv. I do not look after animals that have a history of being aggressive or are volatile in nature and can occasionally become aggressive.

v. I do not look after animals that have not received all legal necessary vaccinations.

6. Extra care

I am able to provide all care necessary to keep your pet healthy and happy. My service pack includes some extra care services if needed, such as:

i. Walks with your pet. A minimum of 2 walks a day is included in the price.

ii. Give any necessary medication (as long as your pet does not fit into condition number ii mentioned in the term above in ‘Animals condition’)

iii. Regular brushing if your pet needs it.

iv. Regular litter tray cleaning.

v. Routine visits to the pet if appointments are due (travel costs will be charged as an extra)

7. Hours

As a nomadic live-in pet sitter, I will be a company to your pet for as many hours as possible and will fit any outings within the schedule of needs of your pet.

Nevertheless, it is important to understand that as a live-in pet sitter, I am unable to offer 24/7 company to your pet. As a nomadic person, I still carry out my daily activities and tasks, as so, within my daily normal activities I might go out to eat, exercise, do shopping or do any other short activity.

My live-in house sitter services include the following points:

i. Guaranteed overnight stay at your residency with your pet (I will never sleep outside the house).

ii. Counting with the overnight watch, companionship for a minimum of 15 hours per day is included.

8. Requirements

To be able to hire my services you must fulfil a few requirements:

i. Have a habitable house with proper sanitary conditions.

ii. Have a clean and comfortable room in which I can sleep, with available clean bedding and pillow.

iii. If in cold locations, appropriate heating appliances must be provided.

iv. If in hot locations, an appropriate fan and mosquito net (if applicable) must be provided.

ii. Have a clean shower/toilet facility that I can use.

iii. Have a reliable unlimited Wi-Fi Internet connection that I can use. Unfortunately, I am unable to support you if your home does not have a reliable Internet connection.

iv. For long stays, have available a washing machine which I can use for my laundry.

v. Provide basic breakfast items such as cereals, granola, butter, cheese, milk and tea.

vi. Let your neighbours be aware of my stay at your location.

vii. Provide me with the phone number and address of a known neighbour whom I can call for help in case of an emergency.

vii. Accept deliveries on your behalf.

viii. Escort tradesmen around your property (with your prior approval) allowing them to provide quotations for you.
